교육과정이 학교 급별 개념이 아닌 학년제 개념에 의해 개발된 제7차 교육과정 시기 이후로 오늘에 이르까지 초등과 중등의 도덕․윤리과 교육이 연계되어 수행되는 것에 관한 논의나 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 주지하다시피 초등과 중등 도덕․윤리 교육이 연계되어 지속적으로 일관되게 수행된다면 지금보다 더 많은 도덕 교육의 성과를 거둘 수 있을 것이다. 이런 관점에서 이 연구에서는 도덕․윤리과 교육의 초․중등 연계 방안의 모색을 주안점으로 설정하고, 초등 및 중등학교 현장에서 도덕․윤리교육이 연계되어 수행되기 위한 방안을 집중적으로 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 도덕과 교육과정을 변천을 초․중등 교육의 연계라는 관점에서 고찰한 후, 이를 토대로 하여 초․중등 도덕․윤리 교육의 연계 방안으로 초․중등 도덕과 교육과정의 연계, 초․중등 도덕 교과서의 연계, 초․중등 도덕과 교수-학습 방법의 연계, 초․중등 도덕․윤리과 교육에 대한 상호 이해 증진 등의 방안을 제안하였다.
There are rare researches about a exploring of connecting policy between elementary and middle school in moral education since the 7th curriculum of moral education that was developed by grade concept instead of elementary and middle school concept. As we know, if the education was carried continuously between elementary and middle school, we are going to get much result. From that prospect, we have to explore a connecting policy on the ground that we consider the changes of moral education curriculum. Finally we propose the connecting of moral education curriculum between elementary and middle school, connecting of moral textbook, connecting of moral teaching-learning method between elementary and middle school, promoting of mutual understanding between elementary school teachers and middle school teachers.
