PBL(Problem-Based Learning)은 현실문제 해결능력을 중요시 하는 경영학 교육에 적절한 학습법이다. PBL은 구조화되지 않은 특정의 문제를 학습자들이 팀별로 해결하기 위해 필요한 지식을 습득해 나가는 학습자 주도 협동학습법의 하나이다. 본 연구는 혁신적인 교수법인 PBL을 다양한 과정의 원가관리회계 교육에 적용한 사례를 소개한다. S대학교의 원가관리회계 과목의 학부 및 대학원의 한국어 및 영어 강의에 적용한 사례를 소개한다. PBL의 핵심요소인 문제의 구성, 팀 구성, 진행 및 평가의 구체적인 방법과 내용을 수 년 간의 수업 경험에 기초하여 제시한다. 과목의 성격과 학습자 규모에 따라 학기당 2-4개의 팀 과제를 진행하면서 PBL을 진행하는 것이 효과적이었다.
PBL(Problem-Based Learning) is appropriate for business education emphasizing problem solving competency in reality. PBL is a learner-directed collaborative learning method where learners acquire relevant knowledge in solving ill-structured problems in teams. This case study shows how an innovative learning method, PBL could be applied to Cost/Management Accounting courses in different academic programs. This study introduces PBL cases applied to Cost/Management Accounting courses in Korean and English at undergraduate and graduate programs at S university. The detailed description of critical factors of PBL, problems creation, team creation, processes, and evaluation is provided based on several years’ in-class experience. Two to four PBL problems were used effectively depending on the nature of courses and class sizes.
