A Study on Heroes who Get out of Manners in Korean Classical Long Novels

이 글은 대하소설에 보이는 호방형 남성주동인물의 유형과 그 성격을 고찰하기 위해 마련되었다. 호방형 인물은 문무를 겸비한 인물로 설정되어 있다. 문(文)이 가장 많은 가운데 혼인을 자의로 하는 것, 일반적인 호색, 정벌, 아내에 대한 의심, 아내에 대한 애정 순으로 자질을 갖추고 있다. 이러한 자질을 기준으로 했을 때 호방형 인물의 유형은 총 8가지가 나오고 이를 감정적 호방형 인물과 이성적 호방형 인물로 양분할 수 있고 이 중 핵심적인 인물군은 감정적 호방형 인물이다. 호방형 인물은 서사적으로 양면적 성격을 지니고 있다. 아내를 사랑하거나 의심하는 성격이 있고, 문제를 일으키거나 해결하는 모습을 보인다. 또 집안에 근심을 일으키거나 반대로 웃음을 제공하는 역할을 한다. 한편 호방형 인물의 설정은 예법에 대한 반예법의 설정인바, 이 길항 관계를 통해, 작품은 한층 다채롭고 흥미롭게 되었다.

This thesis aims at consider the types and the characters of the heroes who get out of manners in Korean classical long novels. The heroes who get out of manners have some features: marriaging willfully, sensuality, doubt of his wife and loving for his wife. The typical type is the heroes who have all features. The heroes who get out of manners have double faced characters. They love own wife or suspect her and raise problems or solve questions. And they raise uneasiness or give a loud laugh to his family. Creating these characters have a meaning that show anti-manners against manners. Through these relations, these works have a variousness and an interest.
