이 연구에서는 인터넷 음란물 이용자의 사회적 맥락적 속성, 성격 특성, 미디어 이용 특성이 음란물 노출에 미치는 영향과 음란물 노출이 실제 성에 대한 태도(허용성과 도구성)에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 음란물 노출에 영향을 미치는 선행변인은 미디어 실행 모델과 커뮤니케이션 연구, 청소년 연구, 사회 및 발달 심리학 등에서 다루고 있는 변인들을 선정하였다. 분석결과, 감각추구 성향과 다른 미디어를 통한 음란물 노출이 인터넷 음란물 노출에 유의미한 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 인터넷 음란물 노출은 성에 대한 허용성과 태도에 모두 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 청소년들이 미디어를 통해 공격적 행동을 학습하게 된다는 논리와 마찬가지로 성에 대한 태도에도 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 가정을 실증적으로 검증하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 이를 통해 커뮤니케이션학, 청소년학 등 관련 학문 분야에서의 이론적 논의를 활발히 하고, 다양한 교육 및 정책적 대안 마련에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study was to explore the relationships between exposure to internetsexually explicit materials and the sexual attitudes. The results show that sensation seeking and sexually explicit materials in other media positively influence exposure to internet sexually explicit materials. Exposure to internet sexually explicit materials had a positively impact on the sexual attitudes. The study empirically shows that adolescent’s sexual attitudes is influenced through media exposure in the same way violent media program have an impact on the aggressive behaviors of adolescents. The findings also imply that build educational and political policies on adolescents and promote theoretical discussion on adolescents in related fields, such as communication studies and adolescent studies.
