본 연구에서는 만 4, 5, 6세 유아 102명을 대상으로, 무게 측정 도구의 선택, 직접비교를 통한 무게 측정 과정, 비표준 단위의 선택, 비표준 단위를 이용한 무게 측정과정을 알아보았다. 유아의 무게 측정과정은 비디오로 녹화하여 전사하고 범주화하여 빈도분석 및 내용분석을 하였다. 그 결과 무게측정도구의 선택, 직접비교를 통한 무게측정과정, 비표준단위선택 및 비표준단위를 이용한 무게측정과정에 연령별로 차이가 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 연령에 따라 유아에게 적합한 무게 측정 도구를 제공해 주어, 유아의 측정활동을 촉진할 수 있도록 도와주어야 함을 알 수 있다.


The purpose of this study is to offer the base data of developmental processes of young children's weight measurement. This study was conducted through individual tests targeting 102 young children at two child-cares centers located in Busan. The test to investigate for the processes of young children's weight measurement used here was consist of four subscales, which were select tools, processes of weight measurement through the direct compare, select nonstandard units, processes of weight measure using nonstandard units. The summary of the result of this study is shown as follows; First, the tools selection of young children for the weight measurement showed use by weighing machine, hands, eyes, etc and nothing. Most young children selected weighing machine for the weight measurement. Second, there are 4 kinds of me in weight measurement which are just looking, take one by one, take two things at once and go side by side. Consequently young children who are four, five years old extremely choose looking and take one by one, mostly young children who are 6 years old extremely choose take one by one and take two things at once. Third, Most young children's are selected beads by nonstandard units. Fourth, after we check the weight measurement course, there are 75 young children are succeed. The more increase the age becomes, the more increase the success rate. The research result which it will follow in age and the difference will appear in weight measurement process different according to the age. So we provide the weight measurement tool which is suitable for the age developmental level.
