본 연구는 영재학급 입급에 영향을 미치는 가정환경 하위변인의 영향력을 알아보고 그 특징을 파악하여, 교육적인 함의를 얻는 것에 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구 목적 달성을 위하여 영재학급과 일반학급을 표집하고, 지능, 학업성취, 가정환경에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 가정환경은 지위환경과 작용환경을 개념화하였다. 연구결과 초등학교 영재학급과 일반학급을 구분 할 수 있는 주요한 변인은 작용환경과 학업성취인 것으로 나타났다. 지능, 지위환경, 학생이 지각한 작용환경은 영재학급․일반학급 구분에 별다른 영향을 미치지 않는다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 부모-자녀의 질을 대표하는 작용환경이 영재학급과 일반학급의 구분에 중요한 영향을 미치기 때문에 작용환경의 질을 높일 수 있는 교육방법을 제안하였다.


Home Environment is one of the most important issues facing the field of Gifted Education. The purpose of this study were to investigate and analyze the effects of Home Environment. The research question of this study were the effects Home Environment discriminate between gifted classroom and regular classroom. The subjects were 549 students of 4,5,6 grade in elementary school and their parents. Several instruments were administered, including Intelligence Test, Achievements Test and Home Environment. Status Environment in Home Environment were more effects on higher grades. The process environment more effective for the discriminate between gifted classroom and regular classroom. As a result. this study suggest the process environment can be significantly and effectively used for Educational setting. The limitations of the study and the suggestions for further study were discussed.
