본 연구는 어린이집 원장이 인식하는 바람직한 보육교사상을 알아보기 위해, B지역 어린이집 원장 300명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 회수된 설문지 중 최종 261부의 설문지를 연구 자료로 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료 분석은 PASW 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 평균과 표준편차, 독립표본 t-검증과 일원변량분석, Scheffé 사후검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어린이집 원장이 인식하는 바람직한 보육교사상에 대한 일반적 인식은 개인적 자질, 교사의 역할, 전문적 자질 순으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 어린이집 원장의 개인적 변인에 따른 바람직한 보육교사의 개인적 자질에 대한 인식은 전공학과에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 나타났으나 연령, 기관유형, 원장경력, 학력에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났고, 전문적 자질에 대한 인식은 기관유형, 원장경력, 전공학과에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 나타났으나 연령, 학력에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어린이집 원장이 인식하는 바람직한 보육교사의 역할은 기관유형, 전공학과에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 나타났으나 연령, 원장경력, 학력에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.


The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of daycare center principals about an ideal image of daycare teacher. The subjects in this study were 300 principals in daycare centers located in the region of B. After a survey was conducted, the answer sheets from 261 respondents were selected for analysis. The collected data were analyzed by a statistical package PASW 18.0. Statistical data on mean and standard deviation were obtained, and independent-samples t-test, one- way ANOVA and Scheffe post-hoc analysis were utilized. The findings of the study were as follows: First, as for a general awareness of an ideal image of daycare teacher, the daycare center principals placed the most importance on personal qualities, followed by teacher roles and professional qualifications. Second, in relation to their awareness of the ideal personal qualities of daycare center teacher by personal variables, there were significant differences among the principals according to their major, and no significant differences were found according to their age, the type of daycare center, career and academic credential. Concerning their awareness of professional qualifications, there were significant differences according to the type of daycare center, their career and major, and no significant differences were found according to age and academic credential. Third, regarding their awareness of desirable teacher roles, there were significant differences according to the type of daycare center and their major, and their age, career and academic credential made no significant differences to that.
