The CEE remains a strong voice in advocating for economic education, and continues to publish materials and sponsor programs. The Council for Economic Education provides a model for entities in other countries that wish to promote economic education. While the educational systems vary across the world, the need for economic education does not. Many of the deficiencies of the U.S. system in the area of economic education are found in other countries. Those in other countries who seek to improve economic and financial literacy can turn to the CEE for an example to guide their own national economic literacy efforts in training teachers, providing materials, encouraging research, and advocacy.
미국경제교육협회는 경제교육을 홍보하고 경제교육 자료를 출판하고 경제교육 프로그램을 지원하는 역할을 담당하고 있다. 미국경제교육협회는 경제교육을 확산시키기는 원하는 다른 국가들을 위한 모델을 제시하기도 한다. 경제교육체제는 국제적으로 매우 다양하지만, 경제교육에 대한 요구는 공감대를 형성하고 있다. 미국의 경제교육에서 나타나는 많은 문제점들이 다른 나라들에서도 나타나고 있다. 경제이해력이나 금융이해력의 개선을 추구하는 국가들은 자국의 경제이해력을 증진시키기 위한 교사교육, 자료개발, 연구활성화, 홍보 등과 관련해 미국경제교육협회의 사례를 통해 시사점을 얻을 수 있다.
