간재 전우는 性尊心卑를 바탕으로 性師心弟를 주장하면서도 반면에 心性一理를 주장하기도 한다. 심과 성이 같은 하나의 리라고 하면서도 존비가 있다고 한 것이 된다. 따라서 리에도 尊卑가 있다는 것이 된다. 하지만 그는 리를 절대적인 존재라고 했기 때문에 존비가 있을 수 없다. 또한 심성일리는 心性一物이지만 성사심제는 二物이다. 이물이면서 일물이라고 했기 때문에 성사심제와 심성일리의 관계에 대한 표현에 문제가 있다. 하지만 그는 심과 성을 분설과 합설의 관점에서 말하고 있다. 따라서 합설의 관점에서 심성일물로서 심성일리이며 분설의 관점에서 심성이물로서 성사심제가 될 수 있는 것이다. 본래 성은 심 가운데에 있지만 성과 심을 합쳐서 본다면 일물, 분리해서 본다면 이물이 된다. 심과 성이 붙어 있기도 하고 떨어져 있기도 한 것이 아니라 합쳐서 보기도 하고 분리하여 볼 수 있다는 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 본다면 성사심제와 심성일리는 정합적이다. 또한 심성일리라면 심이 순선한 리이기 때문에 구태여 성을 스승으로 삼아 순선을 발현시킬 필요가 없음에도 성사심제를 주장한다. 하지만 심은 미미하게나마 자취가 있고 능동적인 존재이기 때문에 自用할 수 있다는 것이다. 자용하게 되면 악이 발현 될 수 있으므로 그것을 근본적으로 방지하기 위하여 성사심제해야 한다고 주장한다. 이로 미루어 보았을 때 그는 심이 순선하지만 능동적으로 자용할 수 있기 때문에 무위이므로 자용할 수 없는 순선한 성에 뿌리를 두어야만 완벽하게 순선을 발현할 수 있다고 생각했다는 것을 알 수 있다.
