본 연구는 유아교육기관의 지역사회 문화교육 실시 현황과 이에 대한 교사들의 인식을 분석한 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구자들이 제작한 질문지 총 566부를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 유아교육기관에서 지역사회 문화교육을 실시할 필요성에 대해서는 대부분의 유아교사들이 필요하다(96.7%)고 응답하였다. 지역사회 문화교육실시 여부는 어린이집과 유치원 간에 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, 활동 계획 시 참고하는 자료나 가정과의 연계지도에 실시정도에 있어서는 차이가 나타났다. 또한 유아교사의 경력에 따라 지역사회 문화교육을 실시하는 정도나 교구 제작 경험, 활동 계획 시 참고하는 자료 등에서 차이가 나타났다.
This study identifies the management of community cultural programs and the implementation of educational activities in early childhood education. The study also investigates the relationship of teachers' backgrounds to their management of community cultural programs. Subjects were 566 early childhood teachers who responded to a questionnaire developed by the researchers. The majority of the teachers recognized the importance of community cultural programs and the necessity of educational activities in early childhood education. However the responses of experienced teachers indicate that they implement community cultural programs more often than do novice teachers. Even so, the study found that, in general, there was little effort to provide community cultural educational activities by teachers, implying the necessity of inservice early childhood training programs in this area.
