본 연구는 유아권리와 교사권리에 관한 메타포를 분석함으로써, 이에 대한 예비유아교사들의 주관적 인식을 살펴보고, 유아와 교사의 권리보장을 위한 기초자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부산, 경남 소재 6개 대학에 재학 중인 예비유아교사들에게 수집한 메타포, 즉 은유적 표현을 분석하였다. 예비유아교사들의 메타포를 범주화한 결과, 첫째, 유아권리에 대한 메타포는 ‘옹호해야 할 약속’, ‘불가결한 가치’, ‘행복한 성장의 기반’, ‘외부환경에 좌우되는 힘’, ‘깨지기 쉬운 위태로움’의 5가지 주제로 범주화되었다. 둘째, 교사권리에 대한 메타포는 ‘깨지기 쉬운 위태로움’, ‘유아권리의 기반’, ‘옹호해야 할 약속’, ‘역량 발휘의 근간’, ‘유아권리에 뒤따르는 힘’ 5가지의 주제로 범주화되었다. 셋째, 메타포가 예비유아교사의 학년이나 권리 관련 교과 수강 여부에 따라 차이가 있는지 분석한 결과, 유아권리에 대한 메타포에서 예비유아교사들의 학년에 따른 차이가 발견되었다. 본 연구를 통해 예비유아교사들에게 유아와 교사의 권리에 대한 자신의 인식을 되돌아보는 계기를 제공하였고, 이에 대한 다양한 차원의 인식을 검출해내었으며, 예비유아교사들에 대한 권리교육을 위한 실제적인 시사점을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to analyse metaphors of pre-service teachers concerning young children’s rights and teachers’ rights and find ways to guarantee rights. Data was collected from pre-service teachers who are in six colleges in Busan metropolitan city or Gyoungnam province. The metaphors were reviewed, and were sorted out by similar meanings based on the concepts. After reviewing participants’ responses repetitively, metaphors concerning young children’s rights were conceptually categorized into five themes: (1) Agreement should be advocated; (2) Indispensible value; (3) Foundation of happy growths; (4) Power that depends on the environment; (5) Fragile. And metaphors concerning teachers’ rights were conceptually categorized into five themes: (1) Fragile; (2) Foundation of young children’s rights; (3) Agreement should be advocated; (4) Root of teachers' competences; (5) Following rights after young children’s rights. In addition, metaphors concerning young children’s rights differed from pre-service teachers’ college year. This study found a variety perception of pre-service teachers on young children’s rights and teachers’ rights. The implications of these findings are discussed in terms of rights and teacher education among pre-service early childhood teachers.
