본 연구는 우리나라의 급진적인 고령화사회의 도래가 지역의 산업구조에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보기위해 먼저 고령화변수와 지역의 산업구조간에 상관관계가 존재하는지를 알아보고 이를 토대로 회귀분석을 실시하여 통계적으로 유의한 영향력 계수를 도출하고자 함에 목적이 있다. 분석을 위해 전국과 광주ㆍ전남지역의 1987-2002년 동안의 고령화관련 자료와 지역의 산업구조관련 자료를 가지고 상관관계분석과 회귀분석 및 입지상 분석을 실시하였다. 실증분석 결과 고령화 변수와 지역 산업구조간의 상관관계가 통계적으로 매우 유의하게 나타났으며 회귀계수 값 또한 고령화 변수와 지역의 전체 산업구조간에 크게 나타나 고령화사회의 도래가 지역의 산업구조 변화에 영향력을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 지역의 현실적인 산업의 특화도를 나타내는 입지상 분석에서는 회귀분석이나 상관분석 결과와는 달리 고령화사회의 도래가 지역의 산업구조에 미치는 영향이 작은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 전국 및 광주ㆍ전남지역에서 실버산업과 관련된 금융보험, 사회 및 개인서비스, 음식숙박업 등이 지속적으로 성장하고 있는 점은 중요하다고 하겠다. 이러한 결과는 고령화 속도가 빠른 지역의 경우 고령화사회의 특성에 맞는 지역산업의 육성 및 장기적인 산업구조변화에 대한 지방자치단체의 대응이 시급하게 이루어져야 한다는 것을 시사하고 있다.
This study is purposed to study how the rapid aging of Korean societies affect the structures of regional industries. Firstly, the interrelationship of the aging and the structures of regional industries are studied and based on the results, statistically significant influential indexes are measured by regression analysis. For the analysis, regression, correlation and location quotient analyses are implemented on the basis of the aging-related data and industrial structure related data from nationwide and Gwangju and Jeonnam between 1987 and 2002. As the result, the interrelationship of the aging and the structures of community industries was very significant. The regression index value of the two factors was also huge to reveal that the aging of the societies affect the structures of regional industries. However, the results of the location quotient analysis indicating the realistic specialization of the industries within the communities only showed a slight influence of aging society to the structures of regional industries, unlike the results of regression and correlation analyses. Thus, the consistent growth of financial insurances, social or individual services, food and lodging industries related to silver industries nationwide and in Gwangju and Jeonnam is considered important. These results reveal that rapidly aging societies should develop new regional industries that satisfy the characters of aged societies as well as new regional measures for the long-term transition of industrial structures.
