본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 특수학급 장애학생의 교육과정 보충 및 특기적성, 여가 활동을 위한 방과 후 교육 프로그램 운영에 대한 교육 현장의 요구를 반영하기 위하여 교사와 학부모, 장애 학생의 요구를 조사, 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 특수학급 장애학생을 위한 방과 후 교육 프로그램의 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 설문 조사와 면접 결과 교사와 학부모 모두 언어치료 등의 장애 보상 활동을 가장 많이 요구하였으며, 예체능 활동 등 특기·적성지도와 지역사회 중심 교육 및 체험 활동 순으로 방과 후 교육 프로그램에 대해 요구하였다. 또한 장애학생은 예체능활동 중심의 활동과 자연체험 활동 등 체험활동을 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 이와 같은 현장 교사와 학부모, 장애학생의 요구를 바탕으로 특수학급 방과 후 교육 프로그램에 대한 개선방안을 제시하였다.


The purpose of this study is to examine and analysis the needs of after school programs and to propose improvements for the chidren with disabilities in special education classrooms. We gathered opinions of 24 teachers, 26 parents and 26 students from questionnaire, and had interviews with 8 teachers about after school programs for the handicapped in special education classrooms. The result of the study are as follows. First, most of parents and teachers have answered that the students need after school programs and the most significant reason for that is their children's educational, social, and emotional development. Second, the needs of parents for the program focused on therapeutic education, academic base, and physical education in after school programs. Third, Teachers wanted that their children are given the activity based courses in after school programs. Finally, I suggested improvements of after school programs based on the parents and teachers' recommendation.
