본 연구의 목적은 표의 점역형식에 따라 시각장애인의 문해 시간에 차이가 나타나는지 비교하여 촉각 문해에 도움이 되는 표의 점역형식을 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 고등학교 사회교과서에 수록된 표를 점역 교과서 형태와 지침식 형태 두 가지로 점역하여서 대학생 이상인 시각장애인 20명을 대상으로 문해성 검사와 인식조사를 실시하였다. 표 점역에 대한 인식 조사는 빈도분석으로, 문해성 차이는 예제 표 문제해결 시간을 공변인으로 두고 집단간 공변량 분석으로 처리하였다. 이에 따른 연구결과는 첫째, 시각장애인은 자신의 점독 능력에 대해 비교적 긍정적으로 인식하였으며, 표의 학습 경험에 대해서는 45%가 교과서의 표를 거의 빠지지 않고 정보를 찾는 연습을 한 반면 40%는 사회 담당 교사의 일방적 설명으로 지나갔다고 응답하였다. 연구 대상자의 85%가 표는 정보를 비교, 분류하여 습득할 때 문장설명보다 효율적이므로 매우 중요하다고 인식하고 있으나 표의 점역에 관하여서는 시각장애인이 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 형태로 제공되었으면 좋겠다고 하였다. 둘째, 표 점역형태에 따른 두 집단 즉 교과서식 집단과 지침식 집단의 표 문해성의 차이를 분석한 결과, 점역 방식에 따른 집단간 표 문해 시간에서 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다.


This study aimed to find the effective ways of the braille transcription of the table in visual materials of social study textbook to promote the qualitative improvement of the education for visually impaired students by analyzing the literacy of the blind and the recognition of the blind regarding the braille transcription of the table according to the braille transcription patterns of the table, which appears in the high school social study textbook. To achieve the study purpose, it conducted a literacy test according to the recognition survey on the braille transcription of the table and the braille patterns of the table, targeting 20 visually impaired individuals. The results of this study are as follows: First, 85% of study subjects recognized that table was more effective than sentence explanation when they acquired information by comparing and classifying. However, they thought that the it would be better to provide the easy braille transcription pattern of the table for the understanding of the blind. Second, the findings of the analysis on differences in literacy of two groups according to the braille transcription patterns of the table; the group of textbook type and the group of guide type. In the case of designating literacy as covariate, there was no significant difference in literacy time of the table between groups according to the braille transcription methods.
