그리스 정치 철학자 아리스토텔레스는 선의 실현에 대한 자신의 정치 논제를 제시한 바 있다. 물론 그는 이것만 논의한 것은아니다. 하지만 이것은 그가 제시한 주요 논지가운데 중심논제임은 확실하다. 이 논문은 그의 논제가 한국의 정치철학을 바로세우는데 도움을 줄 수 있다는 데서 출발했다. 아리스토텔레스의 논제는 정치제도, 정치, 인간, 국가, 개인의재산권사용, 시민권, 헌법, 그리고 정부 등 광범위하다. 그는이 모든 영역에서 선의 실현을 강조했다. 그리고 이 모든 것들은 선에 의해 평가되어야 한다고 주장했다. 한국정치에서 과연 이것이 가능하고, 실현가능할까? 답은 부정적일 수 있다. 현실이 그렇지 않기 때문이다. 물론 아리스토델레스 당시에도 그랬다. 그러나 우리가 부정부패를 막고 정의사회를 이루고자 하는 노력만으로도 우리 사회는 그 가능성을 보게 될 것이다.
Aristotle, the Greek philosopher, proposed his political treatises on the realization of the goodness. Of course, this is not the only subject to him. However there is no doubt that this is the main theme he suggested. This thesis starts with a conviction that his treatises would be helpful to set up the Korean political philosophy. Aristotle’s treatises has a wide scope; the political systems, the politics, human beings, the nations, the use of personal property right, the citizenship, the constitutions, and the government. But he stressed the realization of the goodness in every spheres. Furthermore he insisted all of these should be evaluated by the goodness. Is it possible and feasible in Korean politics? The answer could be negative because the reality is not fit with those suggestions. Of course Aristotle had the same situations. As long as we are struggling to deter the corruptions and to build the righteous society, we will see the light of possibility.
