이 글은 해방 이후 재일동포사회가 놓여 있던 ‘민족의 경계’, ‘조국 귀속성의 경계’ 그리고 ‘현실의 경계’ 속에서 형성된 재일동포사회의 문화정체성을 분석한다. 재일동포사회의 문화정체성은 3중의 경계 속에서 각각 지킴과 투쟁, 갈등과 분열, 그리고 분화하는 문화정체성으로 표출되었다. 이 글은 재일동포사회의 문화정체성을 ‘3중 경계문화정체성’으로 규정하고 각각의 경계가 어떤 상호작용을 통해 3중 경계문화정체성으로 표출되었는지 문화정체성의 이론적 틀을 적용하여 살펴본다. 재일동포사회의 문화정체성 연구는 그 필요성에도 불구하고 주로 재일동포나 일본인 학자에 의해 연구되어 왔다. 이런 측면에서 이 글은 한국의 정치학 분야에서 재일동포사회에 대한 학문적 관심을 환기시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 아울러 재일동포사회의 과거와 현재 그리고 미래를 진단해 봄으로써 재일동포사회에 대한 우리사회의 인식전환과 정책적 대안마련의 필요성을 제기한다.
The intent of this paper is to examine the cultural identity of Korean residents in Japan (Zainichi) through its theoretical conception and define it as a 'triple-boundary cultural identity' of people, attributions of one's homeland, reality. The cultural identity of Zainichi was expressed as 'struggle and keeping', 'division and conflict', and 'diversity' of cultural identity. Despite the need for the study of the cultural identity of Zainichi, it has been studied mainly by Zainichi scholars or Japanese scholars. So, this paper is expected to be able to attract the academic attention for the cultural identity of Zainichi in the field of Korea's political science. This paper making a diagnose with Zainichi's past, present and future. This paper proposes a need to change our perception to the Zainichi. Also this paper proposes a need of policy alternative to the Zainichi.
