본 연구는 전문성 발달 과정에 대한 사례 연구로서 연기 전문성을 중심으로 개인의 능력이 어떠한 과정과 요인에 의하여 발달되어가는 지를 교육심리학적 관점에서 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 연기 분야에서 국제적 능력을 인정받고 있는 국내 배우를 중심으로 그 주변 인물들을 심층적으로 면담하는 방법을 적용하였고, 면담 결과에 대한 주제분석과 삼각검증법을 통해 연기 분야에서의 개인의 전문성이 어떻게 발달해가고, 어떤 개인적, 사회문화적 요인이 영향을 미치는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 결과 연기 분야의 전문성 발달 단계는 입지, 참여, 주도 단계로 구분할 수 있었다. 연기 전문성의 입지 단계에서 전문 분야에 입문하게 되는 중요 요소로서는 자신의 흥미와 재능 분야를 깨닫는 결정화 경험과 다양한 문화적 소양에 대한 교육이 중요 요소로서 도출되었다. 두 번째 단계인 참여 단계에서는 재능을 발견하고 이의 성장을 도와주는 멘토의 역할과 무형식 교육을 통한 자기 계발이 중요하게 작용함을 확인하였다. 마지막 단계인 주도 단계에서는 자신의 장점을 극대화하여 자신만의 독특한 영역을 개발하는 것이 필요하고 이러한 독특한 영역에 대한 사회의 평가가 결정적 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 단계적 특징과 함께 개인의 능력 계발과 관련하여 본 연구결과가 갖는 교육적 시사점이 논의되었다.
This study was conducted to explore what were key factors in developing acting expertise. The development of acting expertise was examined based on the three stage model: preparation, participation, and leading stages. Individuals, domain, and field were components of main analyses in each developmental stage in the study. In the study, a leading actress was interviewed in depth. Also, her friend who was a movie producer, movie management directors, and a movie director were interviewed. The interviews were analyzed by using the method of thematic analysis. The findings of the study were that in the preparation stage, crystallizing experience and various cultural experiences played an important role in developing the talent of performance. In the participation stage, a mentor played a critical role in developing the talent through providing propper disciplines and emotional supports. Also informal and nonformal education affected the expertise development significantly. In the leading stage, social milieu in the acting domain was critical in facilitating the participant's own unique acting styles. Educational implications of the main findings were discussed to make the acting domain conducive to producing more talented members in the domain.
