골수괴사의 원인은 다양하나 결핵에 의한 골수괴사는 극히 드문 것으로 외국문헌에서는 1예가 발표되었고, 국내보고는 없었다. 저자 등은 폐결핵으로 항결핵제 치료중에 병발한 골수괴사 1예을 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.
Bone marrow necrosis is most frequently diagnosed at postmortem examination. Antemortem diagnosis is uncommon. However, organized studies using either bone marrow biopsy specimens or autopsy material showed that bone marrow necrosis can be demonstrated in approximately one third of specimens. Bone marrow necrosis has been observed during the course of a wide variety of diseases, most commonly in association with acute and chronic leukemia, carcinoma, malignant lymphoma, infections, and sickle cell disease. We report one case of bone marrow necrosis due to miliary tuberculosis. Although appropriate diagnosis and treatment were performed, the patient expired.(Korean J Med 63:340-343, 2002)
