The purpose of this study is to examine the current level of training and development of Korea MICE association and to identify areas for improvement. For this purpose, this study conducted reviews of literature in the following areas; human resources development, training & development, and previous research in the tourism & convention industry. This study also conducted an interview with the chairman of the education committee for Korea MICE association. This paper examined the training & development practices of Korea MICE association based on the instructional systems design model which includes educational aim, curriculum, method, evaluation and infrastructure. Based on the results of this examination, this paper suggests that the training program of Korea MICE association needs a more specific educational aim, and systematic curriculum, as well as online education programs, implementation of evaluation, and an organizational culture for infrastructure. This paper is meaningful because there are no previous studies in existence that have examined the system of training and development in the Korean convention industry.
