Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop a family camp program for the enhancement of family resilience for divorced families. Methods: A two-day program was designed consisting of structured family group sessions and mission activities. The design was based on a review of literatures on divorced families, family resilience, and family camp as well as Walsh's conceptual framework of family resilience (belief system, organizational pattern, and communication process). Twenty-five divorced families (a total of 64 members) participated in the program. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used to compare the pre/post comparative analysis of the program. An evaluation analysis on the participants was also conducted. The goal achievements were assessed and the effects of the program were qualitatively analyzed by focus group analysis. Results: The pre/post comparative analysis showed a significant enhancement in family strength and cohesion as well as an improvement in the family communication process score, although the latter is statistically insignificant. The evaluation analysis on the participants also displayed enhancement in family strength, cohesion, and communication process. Conclusions: An effective program to enhance family resilience for divorced families was developed.
