As the media of newspaper in the Modern Enlightenment Age appeared in the public discourse, the Korean language Gookmoon was chosen and the new writing era was opened. Recently the researchers, who are interested in the literature of this era and literary phenomena, have been greatly increased. However, most of them are limited to superficial analysis in spite of emphasizing the relationship with the Media or emphasize the Enlightenment as the result of seeing the text as being separated. In a sense that every writing exists in the context, the relationship should be considered in reading the text. This study is focused on an aspect of modern writing appeared in the newspapers of the Enlightenment. Among them the main text is Mae-il Shinmun in the Age of Enlightenment. It is intended to specify that on what logic the newspapers including Mae-il Shinmun chose 'Gookmoon' and how the characteristics of newspaper media influenced on the style of writing. The newspapers at that time were based on the logic of enlightenment on the basis of dichotomy of 'good' and 'bad' and had the characteristics to be inevitably related with politics. As a result, on the newspapers sarcastic remarks appeared and they implied the possibility of satire by combining animal stories easily. A clue of realism in Modern Korean Literature could be found in a sense that Modern literature inevitably meets realism and satire has inseparable relation with realism.
