The convention industry has made continuous progress based upon integration with information technology. The development of information technology has greatly changed the traditional way of holding conventions. Technological leaps in 3D display and holographic technology are opening up the communications era of our dreams. This study focuses on the technological progress made in the area of 3D stereoscopic and 3D holographic technologies and examines the attitude of convention participants in accepting these technologies. Along with the results of analysis, social implications for the future are also discussed. This study, which is centered on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) proposed by Davis (1989), analyzed the acceptance of 3D holographic technology among convention participants. Individual characteristic variables were applied as antecedent variables in TAM, which has been evaluated as the most widely used model in the acceptance of information technology.
