In order to implement and realize a tourism policies effectively, a positive mentality and robust communication between legislative and executive branch is required. However, reality is that for the past several decades, despite wide range of attentions given by policy makers, they have failed to produce satisfying outcome. Therefore, by analyzing the perception of both branches on tourism issues it may help to establish stronger tourism policies in the future. The following study have examined the perception of policy makers in the legislative branch and perceptions of implementers at executive branch. Results of this study revealed that legislators held a positive image of tourism in their respective states but executive branch has relatively poor perception on tourism industry; where they were slow to emphasize tourism on their priority and poorly coordinate to carry out the plan with relative branches associated with tourism. However, assistant and associates of policy makers have positive perception on tourism policies and they are extremely enthusiastic about prioritizing tourism on their agenda on top. This study concludes with recommendations for pronged approach to tourism to legislators for future of stronger implementation of Korea tourism.
