1910~20년대 황석우는 자유시운동의 선구자로서 활발하게 작품활동을 했던 시, 여러 잡지의 발행과 편집을 담당했던 문화기획자였으며 , 정치경제학을 전공하고 아나키즘 조직에서 활동한 사회운동가이자 이론가였다 . 따라서 그의 다양한 활동을 통합적으로 이해하고 평가하는 연구가 필요하다 . 의 영역에 한정되었으며 최근 들어 아나키스트로서의 활동이 새롭게 조명을 받고 있다 . 이 논문에서는 매체의 발간을 중심으로 황석우의 문단 및 사회활동과 매체 발간의 의의를


Hwang Suk-Wos thoughts related with his Publication of Magazines;Jeong, Woo-TaekAs a foreruner of the fre verse movement in the 1910s and 1920s, Hwang Suk-Wo not only wrote many poems but also acted as a literary critic. He also was a journalist who edited and published several magazines. Further, he was a social theorist who majored in econo-politics, and a person of social movement engaged in anarchistic organizations. Hwang’s various activities requires a new study which attempts to provide a comprehensive understanding and estimation. Studies of Hwang Suk-Wo made so far were generaly confined to his literary world. Recently, a new light has ben put on his activities as a anarchist This study aims to make a survey of Hwang’s literary and social activities, and examine the meaning of his publication of magazines. In the 1910s and 1920s, Hwang was directly or indirectly engaged in many magazines such as Modern Thoughts(1916), Three Lights (1919~1920), Ruins(1920), Rose Vilage(1921), News Leter for People(1921), Music and Literature(1921), Public Opinion(1923), New Trade(1925), Josun Literary Field(1928) etc. To Hwang, the publication of magazines was a kind of political activity. Through magazines, h e a t e m p t e d t o e s t a b l i s h a p o l i t i c a l p o w e r g r o u p b y m a k i n g a wide network of the intelectuals, competed with other power groups in the social and literary fields and hold the hegemony as a cultural power. Also he tried to combine literature with social movement.Hwang’s thoughts and activities are based on anarchism. His thoughts can be summerized as folows:First, to create ‘the new human being’ who has overcome the fedual custom and modern rationalism, and sek for fredom and self-control. Second, to refuse all kinds of customs, authority, politics and nation’s ruling which suppres human beings. Third, to pursue cosmopolitanism transcending nations and races.
