이 논문에서는 나옹 선시에 나타난 시공 표현의 용어를 일상적, 전환적, 초월적 시공 표현 용어 유형이라는 세 가지로 나누어 논의하였다. 나옹의 구체적 선시 작품에 대한 논의를 통하여 그 선시 세계의 성격을 먼저 밝히고, 장차 귀납적으로 선시의 일반적 성격을 구명하는 데에 일조를 하고자 논의를 시작하였다. 먼저 일상적 시공 표현의 용어 유형은 교시나 수행을 내용으로 하는 작품군의 경우에는 시공간의 지속과 빠름, 무상을 나타내는 것이 중심이고, 일상생활과 교시를 내용으로 하는 작품군의 경우에는 생활의 익숙한 시공간을 나타내는 것이 중심이고, 시적화자 자신이나 객관 대상을 중의적으로 읊은 작품군의 경우에는 시적 화자나 대상물 표현의 배경 기능을 하는 것이 중심으로 나타났다. 전환적 시공 표현의 용어 유형은 일상에서 초월로의 전환을 보이는 경우와 초월적 세계 안에서 존재 방식의 전환을 보이는 두 가지가 있었는데 전자의 경우 시간은 매우 짧은 순간을 나타내고 공간은 매우 좁은 개념으로 상징적인 성격을 보여서 전환이 전격적으로 일어난다는 것을 표현하였고, 후자의 경우는 짧은 시간 용어와 광범한 공간 개념의 용어를 가끔씩 구사하여 존재 방식의 변화를 알려 주었다. 초월적 시공 표현의 용어 유형은 기구에서 전환을 보여 주고 승전결 구에서 초월을 보이는 작품군, 초월을 나타내는 구체적 용어를 작품 전체에 걸쳐 사용하는 작품군, 전환과 초월의 구체적 표지가 보이지 않은 작품군에 두루 나타났는데 첫째 군에서는 불교 진리 표현의 시공간 용어, 두 번째 군에서는 선적, 일반적 시공간의 용어, 세 번째 군에서는 상징적 시공간 용어를 주로 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 나옹의 선시는 일상과 전환, 초월의 중요한 국면을 모두 다 보여 주어서 선시의 다양한 면모를 시공표현 용어를 통하여 균형 있게 잘 보여 주는 특징을 가지고 있다는 것을 확인했다. 선시에서 시공간의 개념이 선시에서의 일상과 전환, 초월의 차이를 알려주는 중요한 징표가 될 수 있다는 것도 이 논의에서 드러났다.
This dissertation is written in order to research for the Seon master Naong's Seon poetry in three aspects. The first aspect is about the time and space of daily life in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry, the second aspect is about the time and space of transition in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry, the third aspect is about the time and space of transcendental in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry. Firstly, in the aspect of the time and space of daily life in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry, there are three kinds of the time and space of daily life, which were used in his poetry: the first one is the time and space of daily life in his poetry teaching people, the second one is the time and space of daily life in his poetry keeping daily life, the third one is the time and space of daily life in his poetry describing object and subject. Secondly, in the aspect of the time and space of transition in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry, there are two kinds of the time and space of transition which were used in his poetry: the first one is the time and space of transition from mundane dimension to non-mundane dimension, the second one is the time and space of transition from formness to emptiness inside the non-mundane dimension. Thirdly, in the aspect of the time and space of transcendental in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry, there are three kinds of the time and space of transcendental which were used in his poetry: the first one is the time and space of transcendental the things that being appeared just after transition from mundane dimension to non-mundane dimension in first line of his poetry, the second one is the time and space of transcendental the things that being appeared by using the direct signal of transcendental, the third one is the time and space of transcendental the things that being appeared by no using the direct signal of transcendental. Even though I studied the time and space in Seon master Naong's Seon poetry in this research paper, there could be the other subjects to study. I might continue researching the structure of Seon master Naong's Seon poetry next time in the near future, for example, which kinds of words were used his Seon poetry? what kinds of contexts were used in his Seon poetry on the level of sentences or works.
