This paper aims to explore Robert Frost’s poems as a commentary of the broader social problems that characterized his milieu. Frost is an American poet and a farmer who lived in New England. With this in mind people might consider that his poetry is full of admiration for the beauty of nature. However, in a large number of his poems we can observe people suffering from alienation and uncertainty caused by problems such as: economic depression, the aftermath of industrialization, the isolation of old men, the cruelty of war, and man’s desperation. Frost, however, retains his neutrality. He looks at this world warmly, appealing to humanity―his poetry being full of sympathy for people.
