선류몽설화는 신라 시기 김춘추가 왕위를 계승하던 시기와 고려가 창업되던 시기, 그리고 고려의 8대 임금인 현종이 왕위를 계승하던 시기에 나타나 ‘선류몽’이 있은 후 모두 비정상적인 결연과 출생 및 왕위의 계승이 이루어지는 이야기이다. 본고는 신화론적 측면에서 이 설화를 면밀히 살펴 우주의 신화적 재창조를 원형으로 한 혼돈으로의 회귀와 반질서를 향한 성적 방종의 기능 그리고 신성한 시작의 순환적 의미체계로 이어지는 신화 제의적 원리가 이 설화에 긴밀히 내재하고 있음을 고찰하였다. 이는 새로운 측면에서 선류몽설화의 신화 제의적 성격을 제시함으로써 앞으로도 계속 이어질 여러 설화의 신화적 성격연구에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 믿는다.
The Tale of Urineis a type of folktales spread widely during the reigns of King Kim Chunqiu (654-661AD) of the Xinluo Dynasty, and during establishing the kingdom of Korai as well as reigns of King Xianzong. The main content is that sincethe Tale of Urine appeared, all the protagonistshad the abnormal marriage and all their children became the king. This thesis tries to use the way of mythology to examine the trait of world creating the myths contained in the story, which is regressive thoughts of chaos and sexual indulgent skills of anti-order together with chaos and creative cycle system marked by new order and start and the theory of mythical cult. This thesis is meant to explore the mythical trait of Tale of Urine from a new point of view which would be helpful to studies on mythical trait of other fairy tales.
