한국어교육이 시작된 이래 한국어교육의 범위가 단순히 의사소통을 위한 언어교육의 차원을 넘어선지 오래이다. 2000년을 전후로 하여 한국어교육에서 문학교육이 필요하다는 연구자들의 견해가 제기되기 시작했는데, 문학교육이 필요한 이유는 한국문화를 깊이 있게 이해할 수 있도록 하여 언어능력을 향상시키기 위함이다. 한국어교육에서 문학교육을 활용하는 방식을 언어교육을 위한 문학교육, 문화교육을 위한 문학교육, 본격적인 문학교육을 위한 문학교육의 세 가지 방식을 살펴보았다. 본고는 문화교육을 위해 문학교육이 필요하다고 생각하는 입장이다. 그리고 터키의 에르지예스대학교에서 필자가 담당했던 문학교육의 실제 사례를 이야기해보았다. 문화 이해를 위한 문학교육이 심화되어 문학교육 자체를 위한 본격적인 문학교육으로의 방향 전환을 기대해본다.
Since Korean language education started, scope of Korean language education has been a long time to pass over simple communication. The front and back of 2000 years, literature education is proposed by many researchers. The need of literature education is for understanding of Korean culture thoughtfully. Understanding culture makes language learning ability intensified. The way of using literature education in Korean language education are for language education, culture education and full-scale literature education. On this essay, literature education has a position for culture education. And explain of the literature education case of Erciyes university in Turkey.
