본 논문의 목적은 태국에 거주하는 교포 학습자들의 한글 맞춤법 오류 양상과 원인을 살펴보고, 맞춤법 교육의 결과를 바탕으로 맞춤법 교육의 필요성을 강조하는 데 있다. 외국인 학습자와는 달리 한국어가 아닌 언어적 환경 속에서 입말을 먼저 배우게 되는 교포 학습자의 경우 맞춤법을 교정하는 데 더 큰 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 태국의 푸껫에 거주하는 교포 학습자들의 작문에 나타난 맞춤법의 오류를 유형별로 조사하고 그 원인을 태국어와의 관계를 통해 고찰하였다. 그리고 오류 분석 결과를 토대로 푸껫 학습자들이 많은 오류를 냈던 단어들을 중심으로 맞춤법 교육 방안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study is to examine Korean orthography errors and causes of Korean children living in Thailand, and to emphasize the need for Korean orthography training on the basic of Korean orthography training result. Unlike foreign learners overseas, Korean student learns spoken language before written language. Therefore overseas Korean learners have great difficulty in the correction of their orthography. Therefore this paper surveys the pattern of orthography errors regarding composition Korean children living in Phuket and, searches for the cause through the correlation between the Thai and Korean languages. Emphasis will be placed on orthography training, based on the frequency and type of errors made by learners in Phuket.
