Embarked in 2010, a new project named “Cultural Landscape of Russia” (Сказочная карта России) indicates a culture-tourism of inter-legions which has been focused on fairy tales, byliny, and legends. The project was initiated with an enormous enthusiasm for vitalization of regions with cultural understanding of Russian people. Relying upon this basic background, this paper tries to build a totally new version of culture map with a special focus on fairy tales and byliny. The primary purpose of this paper is to draw scholarly attentions to this theme which has been rarely studied in cultural studies in general and in folklore, in particular. In order for both instructors and students to figure out the essential features of the folkloric materials under consideration, a sort of new subtext, a complementary text for culture and folklore course is strongly needed. Equally, this paper should bring about a creative influence upon the building DB for teaching the course in the sense that this trial is mostly devoted to a new methodology for teaching of Russian folklore and culture. With visual effect such as maps and regional information, too, this article is surely conductive to understanding of other disciplines: regional and cultural studies. For this reason, this pilot project be inarguably studied with other disciplines: old Russian literature, folklore, culture, history and oral traditions.
