In Korean language teaching, the education contents were focused on ‘-(u)nikka’ which represents ‘reason’. But ‘-(u)nikka’ is frequently used for speakers to express ‘reason’ or ‘opportunity’. Therefore, the aims of this research is to examine the related grammar suggested in textbooks of Korean in order to suggest effective models to improve level and stage of learning and communication skills as well as to propose suggested form of organizing ‘-(u)nikka’. First of all, this research discusses the usage of the ‘-(u)nikka’. Next, I argue that the selection if grammatical elements in Korean textbooks exhibit some problems compared to the general usages of -(u)nikka. Lastly, I suggest some methods and principles in selecting and arranging the grammatical elements, and present examples of how to select target forms and arrange them among the many forms related with ‘-(u)nikka’.
