The purpose of this thesis is to inquire into a linkage plan in phonological, pronouncing, orthographic educations, by analyzing the Korean textbook authorized by the 7th National Curriculum and the contents of the Revised Curriculum of 2007, with the assumption that the knowledge of phonology is supposed to be closely linked with pronouncing, orthographic education. It is found out that the knowledge of phonology is not linked with both the Standard Pronunciation of Korean and the spelling system of Hangul in the Korean text by the 7th National Curriculum. The knowledge of phonology is linked with only the Standard Pronunciation of Korean, which leads to a carelessness of orthographic education. Consequently, the Revised Curriculum of 2007 brings about ‘a missing link’ in vertical continuity in school grades. And then, systemic grammatical education is not realized, which is supposed to help students to improve their ability of Korean language use. It is necessary to set up a linkage plan in phonological, pronouncing, and orthographic education. In order to realize this plan, some essential components are needed, such as a linkage between Regulation of Standard Korean(Eomungjujung) and phonology-related sections, a rearrangement of the Korean text for a linkage between pronunciation and orthography, an enforcement of education for language norms.
