In the buckwheat-blossom time that was written by Lee Hyo Suck as a short novel in 1936 is a very famous masterpiece as a lyric novel in the modern-times of Korea. The purpose of this article is to show us what the essential characters of a lyric novel is through the analysing of in the buckwheat-blossom time. This article is based on the theory of the lyrical novel by Ralph Freedman. He had emphasized the pictorial beauty as an essential characteristic of a lyric novel.
