The purpose of this paper is to clarify the literary characteristics and significance of Dohak-sijo(道學時調) written by Ko Eung-choek(高應陟), by comparing the Bu(賦) and Dohak-sijo(道學時調) in terms of the principle of versification. Ko Eung-choek(高應陟) enjoyed reading the Confucian scriptures, and expressed various art forms, such as Chinese poetry[漢詩], Do(圖), Sul(說), Bu(賦), Sijo(時調). Especially, through the process of writing a Bu(賦) and Dohak-sijo(道學時調), Ko Eung-choek(高應陟) expressed great awakening about Confucian scriptures. But differences between Bu(賦) and Dohak-sijo(道學時調) are found in terms of the principle of versification. In the Bu(賦), the Confucian ideology and spiritual awakening were explained by way of arranging things[鋪陳], metaphor, and catechetical dialogue. On the other hand, in the Dohak-sijo(道學時調) they were embodied by Yongjeon(用典) and metaphor literarily. In generall, Dohakja(道學者) will express the Confucian ideology and spiritual awakening. But Ko Eung-choek(高應陟) expressed the Confucian ideology and spiritual awakening by literary form of Sijo(時調), and made an effort to express his own ways.
