The existence of the ending ‘-guro’ in Gyeongsang dialect is widely known, but the origin and process of formation of it are not made sufficiently clear. In this paper, the ending ‘-guro’ in Gyeongsang dialect originate from ‘-gero’, which is the construction of the ending ‘-ge’ + emphasis marker ‘-ro’. And the diachronic change process is assumed as likely ‘-gero>-gəro>-gɨro>-guro’. In Gyeongsang dialect, the ending ‘-guro’ has many variation forms according to the regional area. In that forms the ‘-gero, giro’ are worthy of notice, because that forms are in connected with the origin of ‘-guro’. The function of ending ‘-guro’ is highly coincide with the function of ending ‘-ge’, and the difference between two is still found. There were some functional differences, from which we can suppose that the ending ‘-guro’ appears later in the language history than the ending ‘-ge’. The change ‘-gero>-gəro’ is assumed to be possible in some restricted environments as historical phonological change ‘əj>ə’ is possible.
