Purpose of this thesis is to examine problems of description method and research methodology of history of thoughts in the past and to find out how it will be possible to re-write history of thoughts using numerous excavated texts discovered in China since the 20th century and also to explore what kind of new viewpoint can be established. Researches on history of Chinese thoughts already has more than 100 years. One of reasons why necessity of academic requirement to re-write history of thoughts despite that is because raw texts, which is basic element of description of history of thought, that is, excavated texts, are being increased dramatically compared to the past. But since research methodology of getting out of dependence of the classic suggested by Li, Xue-Qin(李學勤) in the early 1990 has become very popular, criticism research trend on literatures, which can be the most basic for academic science, are nearly disappeared and new trend of academic traditions of new belief of the classic is now covering the entire world academic field. This is a point to be cautioned the most in recent re-writing of history of thoughts. Besides, newly excavated texts from underground are inspiring re-writing of history of thoughts. For example, Excavated text Laozi is providing a clue to reconsider academic theory such as thoughts of Laozi or year of the establishment and position, and meaning in the history of thoughts. Also, Xingzimingchu(性自命出) and Sande(三德) of a bamboo slips from Chu(楚) tomb at Guodian(郭店) and Xingqinglun(性情論), a bamboo slips of Chu during wars period kept at Shanghai Museum have provided a momentum to re-illuminate a big issue of history of thoughts surrounding the issues of ‘the nature(自然)’ and ‘the artificial(作爲)’ in ancient China. It is not only limited to that. These excavated texts suggests possibility of new viewpoint of looking into history of thoughts horizontally and per region instead of viewpoint of looking into the entire China in one dimension and vertically historically. Provided, as excavated texts discovered up to now are mostly limited to the region of ancient Qin(秦) and the region of ancient Chu, it is true that there is a limit until now in the discussion on the nature of regions for thoughts. However, it is believed that it is not impossible at all to find out regional development and its characteristics if we review inherited literacy in a critical look and analyze archeological materials with relatively clear location of excavation. In this thesis, a part of that was reviewed through a bamboo slips, Tangyuzhidao(唐虞之道) of Chu tomb from Guodian.
