<속두류록>의 양식적 성격을 고려하면서 문장 기술상의 특성을 살펴보고 그 문학적 성과를 확인해 보았다. 나아가 작품을 통해 구현되고 있는 작가의식의 실상을 면밀히 고찰하였다. <속두류록>은 경물에 대한 기술 방식에 있어서 다양한 언어 표현을 동원하고 있고 이런 점에서 일정한 문학적 성취를 이루고 있다. 그러나 이 작품의 문학성은 유려한 언어적 형상미보다는 자연 경물과 인문적 事象을 진지하게 성찰함으로써 이를 내면의 知的 인식과 적절하게 조응시키는 방식에 있다고 할 수 있다. 이는 탁영이 士林의 一人으로서 소위 詞章으로 일컬어지는 문학의 공효를 인정하기는 하되, ‘載道之器’로서의 문장 개념을 벗어나지 않으려는 의도가 개입된 때문이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 본 작품에서의 작가의식은 두 방향에서 살펴볼 수 있다. 첫째는 탁영이 지리산 遊山을 통하여 유학자의 학문하는 노력과 내면을 수양하는 방식을 보여주고자 한 점이다. 治世治民의 뜻을 드러내 보이고자 한 것도 여기에 든다. 산이라는 공간을 통해 유학자로서 자신을 성찰하고, 다시 외부 세계로 눈을 돌려 당대 사회가 지닌 문제를 객관적으로 이해하고자 한 그의 태도는 사림으로서의 자기 인식이 분명하고 철저했던 삶과도 무관하지 않을 것이라 본다.둘째는 산을 현실과 대극적 차원으로 이해함으로써, 遊山을 학문의 연찬과 관직 수행의 辛苦에서 일시적으로 벗어날 수 있는 계기로 이해한 점이다. 신선과 같이 자연 속에서 소요자적하면서 현실에서 겪는 다기한 곡절을 잠시 잊고 정신적 유일을 탐하고자 한 의도 역시 뚜렷한 모습으로 본 작품에 두루 반영되어 있다. 그러나 이 작품에 드러난 탁영의 정신적 면모는, 산이 주는 脫俗性에 전적으로 묻혀 있지 않는 점이 특징이다. 최고운의 事跡에 대한 지속적인 탐색을 통하여, 그 스스로는 고운과 같은 불우를 답습하지 않을 뿐더러, 현존하는 정치적 장애를 극복하고 자신의 이념적 지향을 현실세계에 실현하고자 하는 의지를 역설적으로 나타내 보이고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to see the method of description and writer's intent of <SokDuryurok>. This work is the travel essay written by Kim, Eelson, a politician and scholar of Josun Dynasty. He wrote this essay after touring Jirisan which is the higest mountain in Kyungnam province. He traveled this mountain with his best friend, Jung, Yeochang for fifteen days. In this essay, there is no detailed description on the things he saw during the his traveling. On the other hand, he described the overall landscape of this mountain. He doesn't understand things in itself but accepts analytically on his own viewpoint. In this essay, he intended to express his faith on Confucianism, especially Sarim spirit, which is taking a serious view of internal training and stubborn self -controling. And he wanted to show his concerning on people' life through this work. The other thing he wants to express in the essay is that touring mountain help us relax our soul and forget the political problem. But he didn't want to fall in the amusement totally that the mountain may offer. Otherwise, through touring mountain, he want to have chance to make firm determination to reform the social problems.
