본 연구는 고전소설의 환상성을 창출하는 수사적 표현을 유형화 해보고 그 미감을논의하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 고전소설에서는 인물과 서술자의 인식, 초현실적 시간과공간묘사에서 환상성이 두드러지는데 여기서 고전소설의 환상적 수사를 유형화할 수있다. 초현실적 사건을 경험하고 보고하는 인물과 서술자는 현실과 초현실의 경계에 위치해 있다는 경계적(境界的) 인식을 주로 표현하는데 이때는 괴이와 의심의 인식적 수사,의심과 해소의 인식적 수사, 기이와 경이의 인식적 수사가 주로 활용되어 텍스트의 환상성을 창출한다. 불일치적 시간의 수사는 상식적인 현실계의 시간관념과 전도된 시간법칙을 서술하는 것으로 현재 속의 미래의 예시적 시간의 수사, 과거와 현재의 불연속적 시간의 수사, 과거와 현재의 비균질적 시간의 수사에 의해 텍스트의 환상적 감각이 창출된다. 초현실적 공간의 수사는 명암적 대조의 공간 수사, 탈속적 점층의 공간 수사, 미추적과장의 공간 수사가 두드러지며 이러한 공간 수사에 의해 텍스트의 환상성이 창출된다. 고전소설의 환상성은 초현실적 세계를 어떻게 표현하는가 하는 서술에 의해서 독자가대상세계에 대해서 느끼는 거리화와 동화(同化)의 과정에서 발생하는 독자의 심미적감각이라고 할 수 있다. 환상적 수사가 어떤 맥락에서 어떻게 서술되는가에 따라 독자가 대상세계에 대한 거리감을 강하게 느끼기도 하고, 대상세계에 동화하기도 하면서 다른환상적 미감이 경험되기도 한다.
This study is designed to categorize rhetorics that generate the fantastic of classic novels, and to discuss the esthetic sense of the rhetorics. Those rhetorics may be divided according to cognition of the protagonist and the narrator, and description of surreal time and space. Narrators who undergo surreal experience shows liminal cognition. This creates the fantastic of the text through cognitive rhetorics about bizarreness and suspicion, suspicion and resolution, and bizarreness and marvelousness. The fantastic in the class novels are sometimes generated by changing the logic of time order, which,in turn, brings about a new law of time that is different from the time concept in real life. Outstanding are in such cases that future events are shown in the present, the past and the present are expressed in a discontinued manner,or the time flows of the past and present are inconsistent. With regard to the surreal description of space, prominent rhetorics are antithesis that expresses space in darkness and brightness; auxesis that gradually increases the surrealistic character of the space; and hyperbolism that intensifies the beauty or ugliness of space. The fantastic of classic novels are esthetic senses that occur when readers identify with or feel distance from the surreal world. Readers sometime feel further distant according to in what context the fantastic rhetorics are introduces. Through the rhetorics, readers identify with the object world while experiencing different esthetics senses.
