한국의 대학 글쓰기 교육은 읽기를 중심으로 이루어지고 있다. 대학에서의 글쓰기 교육은 세부 목표에 따라 차이가 있겠지만, 텍스트 ‘읽기’를 통해 비판적이고 논리적인 사고 능력을 기른 후 이를 새롭게 표현하는 능력(‘쓰기’로 대표되는)을 목표로 하고 있다. 영남대학교의 <명저읽기와 글쓰기> 역시 명저로 분류된 텍스트를 읽고 이해한 후 학생들 스스로 현대적 가치로 재해석하고 이를 바탕으로 새로운 한편의 글을 써내려가는 것을 목적으로 한다. 대학 글쓰기 강좌에서 읽기를 온전히 학생들 몫으로 돌리고 쓰기만을 강조하는 방식으로 교육할 수는 없다. 교수자들은 학생들이 텍스트를 읽을 때 교수자 자신의 사고를 배제한 채 학생들 스스로 텍스트를 읽고 사고할 수 있도록 도움을 주어야 한다. 따라서 본고에서는 학생들이 텍스트를 읽으면서 스스로 사고할 수 있도록 읽기 단계에서 진행할 수 있는 수업 모듈을 제시하고자 한다. 이때 지정한 활자 매체로서의 일차적 텍스트는 ‘소설’이다. 문학의 양식 중 하나인 소설은 실제적 사건과 허구적 사건의 조합으로 만들어진 텍스트이다. 본고의 최종목적은 다양한 관점으로 만들어진 질문지를 학생들에게 제시하여 수행한 읽기 사례를 토대로 ’텍스트 분석을 통한 읽기 교육의 모듈‘을 제시하는 데 있다.
Writing education in Korean universities is focused on reading. Writing education in universities varies depending on specific purposes, but it mainly aims to develop a critical and logical thinking ability through text 'reading' and to improve an ability to express this newly(represented by 'writing'. The purpose of this study is to enable students to reinterpret texts, which are classified into masterpieces, as modern values by themselves and write new articles, based on their reinterpretations, after reading <Reading Masterpieces and Writing> of Yeungnam University and comprehending it. It is impossible that reading is entirely done by students and only writing is emphasized in university writing lectures. Instructors need to help students read texts and think by themselves by excluding their views. Therefore, this study presented a class module for students to read texts and think by themselves at the reading stage. The primary text as a printed medium appointed here is a 'novel'. Novel, one of literary modes, is a text formed by a combination of an actual event and a fictional event. Ultimately, this study aims to present a 'module of reading education through text analysis', based on the reading cases that students performed after distributing questionnaires that were formed from diverse perspectives.
