1960년 중반이 되면서 고려인 신문인 <레닌기치>를 포함한 소련 언론매체에 베트남전쟁의 참상이 빈번하게 소개되면서 베트남전쟁에 개입한 미국을 비판하는 소련의 여론이 고려인 사회에도 팽배하게 되었다. 고려인 사회와 베트남은 서로 간에 직접적인 교류가 없었다. 하지만 고려인들은 한국동란 당시 소련군의 일원으로 북한을 지원하기 위해 미군을 상대로 전투에 참가했던 경험이 있기 때문에 미국에 대해서는 매우 적대적이었다. 베트남을 지원하기 위해 참전한 미국과 한국은 소련사회의 비판의 대상이 될 수밖에 없었고, 이러한 상황은 고려인 작가의 시, 소설, 희곡 작품 창작에 그대로 반영되었다. 이 논문의 목적은 베트남전쟁을 소재로 창작된 고려인 문학작품들에 나타난 주제와 갈래 별 특성을 살펴보는데 있다. 베트남전쟁을 소재로 창작된 작품의 주제는 미국의 베트남 내전 개입에 대한 비난, 미군의 양민살해에 대한 적개심, 어려움에 처한 베트남에 대한 지원, 베트남전을 통한 한국의 비참한 사회상, 베트남 통일을 위한 빨치산 지하운동이다. 대부분의 시는 시적 긴장이 결여된 선동적인 표현으로 당시 소련의 여론을 충실히 반영할 따름인데 비하여, 소설이나 희곡은 전개 구조는 단순하지만 베트남을 돕기 위한 고려인의 헌신과 민족의 통일을 갈망하는 지하운동 빨치산들의 영웅적인 투쟁이 효과적으로 묘사되고 있다.
In the mid of 1960s, the Soviet mass media including the unique Soviet Korean newspaper, the Lenin kichi introduced frequently terrible scenes of the Vietnam War. The public opinion criticizing the United States, which intervened in the civil war of Vietnam, was prevalent even in the Soviet Korean society. In fact, there was no any direct contact between the Soviet Korean society and the Vietnam. However, as the Soviet Koreans have taken part in the Korean War (1950~1953) against American army to help the North Korean regime as members of the Soviet Army, they were hostile to America. Thus, America and Korea, which took part in Vietnam War, became a direct target of criticism by the Soviet society. This situation has influenced on the creation of poems, short stories, and dramas of Soviet Korean literary world. This study aims to examine the theme of Soviet Korean literary works about the Vietnam War and characteristics of genres. The representative themes are of reproach on American intervention in civil war of Vietnam, hostility toward American army massacring civilians, support for Vietnam in difficulty, miserable social aspects of South Korea vis-à-vis the Vietnam War, and partisans’ underground activities for the Unification of Vietnam. Most of the poems reflect well the public opinion of Soviet Union by using inflammatory expressions, which lack naturally the poetic tension. On the contrary, short stories and dramas, despite of its simple structure of storytelling, depict effectively the devotion of Soviet Koreans in helping Vietnam and the struggle of partisans’ underground operations for the national unification.
