태몽담 전승 현장에서는 성별예시꿈이 지배적이지만 간혹 큰꿈이 등장한다. 이 논문은 태몽담 전승 현장에서 큰꿈이 등장하는 사례를 분석하고 그 의미를 궁구해본 것이다. 우선 큰꿈이 등장하는 사례들을 분석하고 그 의미에 대해 논하였다. 후일담에서는 징조와 기대, 실현에 대한 만족과 그 한계, 실현되지 않은 데 따른 아쉬움과 자책, 불완전한 꿈에 대한 회한의 맥락에서 큰꿈이 등장한다. 태몽발설 금기에서는 태몽을 신의 계시로 보아 발화를 금기한다는 측면에서 신성성과 계시성을 본질로 하는 기원으로서의 태몽인, 큰꿈이 환기된다. 마지막으로 하찮은 상징 꿈은 큰꿈을 전제로 존재하는 것이므로 그 구연과정에서 큰꿈의 존재가 포착된다. 다음으로는 이상에서 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 큰꿈의 의미에 대해 종합적으로 논하였다. 큰꿈은 신성성, 계시성의 측면에서 신화적 탄생담에 닿아 있다. 그리고 전승 현장에서 큰꿈은 실현 불가능한 꿈으로만 존재한다는 점에서 민간의 비극적 꿈 인식을 매개한다는 의미가 있다. 요컨대 현대 태몽담 전승 현장에서 큰꿈은 단편적으로 나타나지만 의미상 신화적 탄생담의 자취 내지 민간의 비극적 꿈 인식의 일단으로서 의미가 있다.
The traces of the Great Dream appear occasionally in transmission field of the dream of conception tales in modern society. In this essay, I analyzed aspects of the Great Dream and researched its meaning. First, I analyzed the aspects of these Great Dream. In the sequels to the dream of conception tales, the Great Dreams appear in the contexts of sign and expectation, the content with realization and limitation in it, the inconvenience and self-condemnation of failure to materialize dream, and the remorse for imperfect dream. In the dream of conception disclosing taboo, the Great Dreams as the original dream which is essentially sacred and revelational, are awaken. Finally, in the process of oral narrating the Humble Dreams the traces of the Great Dream are captured, as they are premised on the Great Dreams. Next, I dealt with the meaning of the Great Dreams overall based on analysis results mentioned above. The Great Dreams are related to the dream of conception tales about the birth of monarch, even mythical birth tales in terms of the nature of God’s will, the revelational attribute, and the sanctity. In addition, the Great Dream is meaningful as the medium of the tragic understanding of dream in that it exists only as unrealizable dream in transmission field of the dream of conception tales. In short, the Great Dream appears fragmentarily in transmission field, but it is meaningful as the traces of mythical birth tales and as the part of tragic understanding of dream among people.
