Verbs can be derived from nominals without any morphological changes in English. They are called 'denominal' verbs (hereafter DV). According to Clark and Clark (1979), they can be classified into several groups in terms of the ways of determining their meaning. Among them, proper name based DVs are the most difficult to determine their meaning. The main purpose of the current analysis is twofold: one is to model how the meaning of proper name based DVs can be resolved; the other to build up a prototype computational system which can determine the sense of DVs.
