SPI(Software Process Improvement) activities have been conducted to achieve high quality, productivity and timely delivery of software products and services in many software organizations for two decades. It is basic premise of software process improvement model that higher maturity level leads to better performance. In this research, the relationship between software process certification and performance of SW development project was empirically investigated with Korean software company. Next, the present study investigates whether one process context factor(software process certification) modifies the relationship between Software Engineering Level and SW project performance. Our results show that the relationship between SW Engineering Level and software project performance become stronger by the impact of software process certification.
