In this study, with the development and application of a learning program using the comics, the students' preference for the class hours in the biology course was analyzed by asking them which class hour they thought was helpful to them, and examined their reponses to the classes using the comic strips. This study is conducted with the subjects of 82 students at a boys' highschool in Busan Metropolitan City who chose science as an elective course for their voluntary optional school hour. The unit of 'Circulation' in the Biology Textbook I was chosen as the unit for the experiment to be conducted with the 10 hour classes. The tasks in the comics were made into four types: filling out the balloons, modifying the incorrect comic strips, completing the unfinished parts in the middle of or at the end of them, and interpreting the graphs. The steps in the teaching and learning activities using comics consisted orderly of problem identification, learning content explanation, team activities, RHD(Roundhouse Diagram) drawing and presentation. As a result of the study, studying the subject preliminary learning using the comic strips reinforced the students' preference for the biology course, encouraged them to appreciate the biology-related professions positively, and exerted a favorable influence on the students' learning attitudes by implanting the self-confidence into the students lacking it.
