Hyangchals(史/si-, 賜/si-, 叱/si-, 省/sio-, 叱/sil) revealing the stem 'si-' had been rarely found until the early 1970s even though those have been more commonly identified since the mid 1970s. On this account, many scholars appear to be ignorant of the stem 'si-' in Hyangchal. With this research background, this study was intended to demonstrate and supplement an approach to decoding Hyangchals revealing the stem 'si-'. Through the approach, I could manage to identify two significant problems. First of all, there is the lack of examples to attest the stem 'si-'. The second problem is the lack of two distinctive meanings in the stem 'si-'. Thus, I intended to supplement the first lack with the stem 'si-' in Kolye Kwukyel and Korean of middle age. Meanwhile, I supplement the second lack with two distinctive meanings, 'si-'(stem) and 'si(si)-'[stem+(an elliptical pre-final ending used to respect for subject)]. As a result above, I become assured that the stem 'si-' is in Hyangchals. In this study, I also discussed some important arguments in details.
