We have had no idea about the origins of 'an adulterer in chest' type within "Konjaku monogatarishū"(1120－1150). However, as I will discuss here, a similar story was discovered from "Kokin shōshō"(after 1724) that is a Korean literary work of comedic stories. We can assume that this type was not born in Japan, nor was it nonfiction. Next, a story resembling 'an old man with a wen' was discovered from "Suiinshū"(1658), an anthology of Kang Hang's. This Korean man lived in Kyoto from 1598 to 1600, and he heard the story from Fujiwara Seika, a member of the Japanese intelligencia. I have noticed that there is another similar story in "Gojō naigishō" (1265) which is a Japanese anecdotal work. There is conclusive proof that this similar story came from China, because of the phrase, "Ruson, that is a small country located in Eastern Sea." Ruson(Luzon) is an island of the Philippines that is located in the Chinese Eastern Sea. We can assume that "Gojō naigishō"'s similar story came from China prior to 1265, and spread to Korea prior to 1600. 'An adulterer in chest' type and 'an old man with a wen' type's new similar story prove that this type was circulated over East Asian area from an early period.
