The purpose of this study is to understand the changes of 'right man' and 'right woman' in marriage market. 150 protocol writings were developed, and analyzed by qualitative content analysis. The changeable ideal types of mate selection revealed in this research seem to be interpreted that conditions of ideal types in marriage market become free from traditional unity and are driving towards individuation. First of all, it turns out that there seem to be the change of marriage gradient which women traditionally choose higher level men than the self in qualifications, such as age, height, the financial within the marriage market. In this study, some of men tend to prefer the higher level women in qualifications of marriage market, such as age, height, the financial, and parental socioeconomic status. And there exist greater similarities in qualifications of mate, such as attractive appearances, importance of sex, economic status, sense of humor, good-nature, between genders than the differences. These results seem to support the explanations of social constructions theories. But some results in this study were still showed gender differences do not contradict to the evolutionary psychology.
