The purpose of this study is to search the preference and related variables of the silver town for the old people. The target subject of this study is the middle aged people and old aged people. This study is composed of the structured questionnaire, and descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA analysis on the collected data was executed. The result is as follows.1) Most of the subject people have known of the silver town. There was the difference in the recognition of the silver town according to the retirement motive.2) The necessity of the silver town showed the difference in accordance with the demographic variable, arrangement for the old age, and individual characteristics : the need to move into the silver town was shown to be higher when the education level is higher, the income is higher, the arrangement for the retirement is more prepared, and the maintenance of the social relationship is not satisfactory.3) The intention to move in the silver town was differentiated according to the demographic characteristics, arrangement for the old age, and viewpoint for the family value : the need to move into the silver town was shown to be higher when the income is higher, the arrangement for the old age is more prepared, and the modern viewpoint on the family value was established.
