This study analyzed the trend of research on remarriage based on the articles published from 1996 to 2007 in Korea. For this research purpose, a total 101 domestic articles on remarriage were collected and analyzed in terms of the trend of the publication, subject, methodology, results, and the suggestions. The results from the content analysis were as follows: First, There were 101 articles published between 1996 and 2007; Second, regarding the subjects, 39% were about remarried couple and family, 43% about remarriage among the elderly, 6% of literature research, and 8% on programs or case study on remarriage; Third, concerning the methodology of 74 empirical studies, 43% of the articles used quantitative method and 23% used qualitative method. Among them, 44% of them included less than 100 participants, while 56% included more than 100 participants; Forth, the results of the 74 experiential studies were categorized into positive and negative factors in terms of such subjects as remarried family, remarried people, step-children, elderly remarriage, and attitude toward remarriage. Lastly, researchers in the area of remarriage mostly suggested the need of improvement in policy and attitude change for the remarried family. Some issues for future studies were discussed.
