This study was intended to provide basic data for developing and supplying counseling service to rural families by looking into the general inclination for counseling needs in married men and women living in rural areas, and if there is a specific difference in counseling needs by related variable. As a result of looking at the counseling needs in married men and women living in rural areas by socio-demographical variable, groups of low average income had a least intention to ask for counseling, combined with the lowest awareness of it. Counseling awareness and experience of using it was more in women than in men. This study intended helped to understand, via grasping the counseling needs in married men and women dwelling in rural areas, that it is necessary to construct a system for providing counseling service, and might well have its significance in rendering the basic data needed for building such counseling service.
